Notes from May 5 Meeting
April's minutes were read and approved.
Report from Board:
No report because May's board meeting in on 5/14.
EMS:
The last test for the First Responder class is on 5/29. Rick Quintana and Gerald Ford want to take the Bridge (EMT-B) class in Coyote. Tom Rogge wants to get jump kits for First Responders, but there's only $38 left in the EMS budget. Money needs to be transferred from other accounts to cover further training etc.
Training:
Eight people signed up for and took the extrication class with Rufus Campbell. Thgis was a beginner's class; an advanced class is planned for the fall.
Old Business:
Abiquiu and Medanales stations improvements: Jessica Rath will meet with Dean Caviggia from Windsor Doors on May 13 so he can measure the doors at both stations.
Gear: It'll take four weeks or so to get new equipment, because purchase orders are closed at the moment. Tom Rogge asks that new volunteers get pagers and radios.
Reports: Jessica Rath reminded everybody to fill out incident reports correctly. Dates and times are particularly important.
New Business:
The new fire station will have a room/space for people to spend the night/be on call. Also, instructors could be put up when a class is being held. There'll be a cot, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
Meeting was adjourned after apparatus check.
